Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Tonament collects and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and a securely hashed password.
- Tournament data: tournament details, participant names, fixtures and scores you or your team enter.
- Entry details: when a player enters a tournament online, their name, partner's name and phone number or email. These are visible only to that tournament's organisers.
- Payment records: amount, date and the Razorpay payment/order IDs. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay and never reach us.
- Technical data: a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in, and settings stored in your browser (such as your theme).
How we use it
To run the service: sign-in, tournaments and live scores, sending emails you need (password resets, team invitations, payment receipts), preventing abuse, and support. We don't sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run Tonament, under their own data-protection terms: Razorpay (payments), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database) and Resend (email). Public tournament pages show participant names and results.
Retention and your rights
We keep data while your account or tournaments exist, and payment records as long as the law requires. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data by contacting us; organisers can remove entries from their tournaments.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and access to data is restricted.
